A popular dal made by combining five kinds of lentil, common to Indian households. Also known as Panchratna - five jewels - this dal is slow cooked, breaking the lentils down into a creamy mass, then spiced with chillies, cumin, ginger and roasted garlic. We like to serve ours alongside Makai Palak and Malabar Parotta.
